Needle Felted Queen Chrysalis by MaijaFeja Needle Felted Queen Chrysalis by MaijaFeja
This is fan-made item. My version of Chrysalis! This is 3D needle felted sculpture. Not a toy! I am in no way affiliated with Hasbro or My Little Pony, I am just a very big fan of the content!

Needle felting is the process of interlocking wool fibres by stabbing it with a barbed needle. The barbs catch the scales on the fibre and cause them to tangle and bind together. To create a 3D sculpture it take very long hours of work. Thousands and thousands of stabs from start to finish.
But I love this art!

I was going to start needle felting and I was curious as to where you buy your wool and how much you need to make something like this.

OH MY!!! This had to have taken forever! You are so good!!!! I love her. Did you needle felt her hair too, or did you use some wet felting?

Wow, from what you said, it's not like something you can cuddle. :(

Sure you can hold it and touch it. You can cuddle it, but very very gently. It will not break in peaces. It is made of pure wool. To be honest it is more shelf toy.

I think it's fragile fabric, that's why it's best not to play with it, otherwise it'll just rip like paper.

Yes, Chrysalis is not for small kids for sure, but it is not too fragile. It is quite sturdy. If you put enough efforts in needle felting, you get quite good result. You will need a lot of power to rip it in peaces...I don`t think it is easy done.
p.s. I have made some needle felted toys for small kids too. Only difference - no tiny peaces and more round forms. Using needle felting you can even make pet toys. My friends spaniel needed 1 week to destroy his needle felted toy :)
